Birthing center:
HCS had establish 24-hour birthing center at Kermi Humla in March 2018. This project is supported by Astrid Vohringer from Nepal Schul Project- Germany. There are four rooms with attached kitchen and toilet. The center has got well-functioning advance equipment’s required for normal deliveries and neonatal care. There is a trained (Skilled Birth Attendant) and a dedicated Midwife and one helper at the center. HCS has provided warm beddings for antenatal and postnatal rooms where the mothers and visitors can have rest before and after deliveries. The center provides routine women’s health checkups, educate women and her family members on prenatal health and nutrition, provide birth education classes and assist women with breastfeeding and infant care with Kangaroo mother care methods, follow-ups visit to the home to monitor the Neonatal and mother’s health.
Beside these programs, the center have been facilitating government’s immunization programs, health monitoring of children under five years children, community health education, community sanitary systems, awareness regarding safe drinking water, communicable diseases, personal hygiene, medicine distribution, outreach camps, training to FCHVs etc.

School Health Programs
Himalayan children Society ensures the better health of the children at School and at Hostel. Our objective is to appraise the health status of the children through health promotion and prevention. We have placed health manual at hostel inorder to promote and prevent complications in child’s health at hostel and school. School Health program of Himalayan Children Society covers:
- Health monitoring of the students
- First Aid training and treatments
- Health awareness programs
- Vaccinations
- Measurement of nutritional status
- Deworming every six monthly
- Isolation of children with communicable diseases
- Basic treatments of minor problems like fever, diarrhea, common cold, cuts, minor injuries etc.
- Referal services
